November is Communication month! Whether it's giving a speech at school, talking to your friends, or having conversation with authority figures, good communication skills are the key to success. This month we want to teach our boys about the essential points of communicating effectively.
Mike Stoess will be giving a lesson covering the basics like maintaining eye contact, body language, and the importance of listening. We also have some great community volunteers--Eric Wilbanks and Adam Lowe--who will be giving more in-depth information about giving speeches for class, peers, or different audiences.
To wrap up the month before Thanksgiving, we will be having a speech contest at the Tucker Unit. Everyone is invited to participate by giving a one-minute speech on the topic of their choice. Best speech wins $50 CASH! Check it out on the events page!
